A recent survey showed that 84% of people wanted a less materialistic Christmas.That sounds encouraging from a spiritual point of view,but I bet the shopping malls and the tills will be as busy as ever.It was Tolstoy who said ”Everybody thinks of changing humanity and nobody thinks of changing himself.”The truth is, it is up to each one of us to carve out some time to make Christmas more spiritual.

Immanuel means ‘God with us’.God came to live with us so we could live with Him.Will we make more time for Him this Christmas?

Veiled in flesh the Godhead see,

Hail the incarnate Deity

Pleased as man with men to dwell,

Jesus,our Immanuel.

Prayer for people-

those who live on their own

those who miss loved ones at this time

those who will receive our ‘shoeboxes’

those who work in hospitals and homes during Christmas.

those who will be travelling long distances.
